The next weekend, the All-American Fencers traveled to Durham for their 3rd Annual Grand Open. This time, Jeff Souter, Dale Dingle, David Ayotte and Gerhard Guevarra represented the Fayetteville fencers.
In the sabre event, Dale and Jeff placed 21st and 29th respectively in a much more difficult event featuring fencers from Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington, Durham, Chapel Hill and NCAA starter fencers.
However, in the foil Gerhard Guevarra reprised his appearance from the first Grand Open in 2008 where he took 7th. |

Fayetteville's fencers bring home several medals, including 2 gold in recent events.
The All-American Fencing Academy hosted the annual Airborne Open, which included sabre and foil events. Fencers from Durham, Wilmington, Raleigh and Fayetteville participated.
Dale Dingle, a veteran of competitions, represented Fayetteville and the All-American Fencing Academy along with Jeff Souter and Megan Connell. This was Souter's first tournament with the All-American Fencers, but has been competing and fencing for a number of years. |

Brianna Osinski and All-American Fencing Academy Coach John Page travelled to Charlotte on Saturday, November 21, 2009 for the Junior Olympic Qualifiers. She competed against 8 other fencers attempting to qualify for the Junior Olympics.
Brianna's final placement was 4th place after a very close fence-off for third place. Congratulations to Brianna for her 4th Place win! Congrats to Coach John Page! Now the team is preparing for their next big tournament - The Dallas North American Cup in March! But prior to that, there will be a few other tournaments available in North Carolina. The All-American Fencing Academy is hosting basic classes for fencing at several locations throughout the Cumberland County area. Satellite classes and programs can be found at Fayetteville Academy, Flaming Sword Academy and Pine Forest Recreation Center. More locations may open up soon. If you have an interest in having a fencing program at your location, please contact us. Satellite programs are also being offered at the All-American Fencing Program through Fort Bragg's Child, Youth and School Services' SKIESUnlimited Program and a Home School Fencing Program. |
