First, some crafting…I mentioned pool noodles and pipe insulation before, but if you don’t have a weapon, here’s some easy crafting that will cost you around $2 you can do for a simple practice weapon. I also include some fencing exercises you can do with a tennis ball and hopefully some other materials that may be around the house:
Material available at Lowe’s Hardware Store (https://www.lowes.com/pd/SharkBite-1-2-in-x-10-ft-PEX-Pipe/1000168451)

(Oh, and there’s an end credits scene. 🙂 )
I mentioned this one before:
Have a weapon? Make a target. Here are two great examples you can easily do:
Workouts and fencing related at home exercises other clubs has posted that I think are good
–Daily workout footwork. You can do part or all. This is by Redstar Fencing Club with Peter Habala (The guy with the magnificent beard. He’s a really awesome fencer that Coach Gerhard absolutely loves to watch fence.) https://youtu.be/bhoKktAPtvA
–Some cross training with soccer agility, how many sets is shown at the end of the video: https://youtu.be/VchxPuX24HY
Lastly if you want to kill some time, maybe get inspired, and watch possibly the most hated movie for fencers. Watch By The Sword, a 1991 fencing movie with Mia Sara, and F. Murray Abraham. Available free on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Dy7C6-TPgtc
Post Script, New guidelines from USA Fencing:
USA Fencing Member and Affiliate Club activities will remain unsanctioned through at least April 20 (previously April 6). Unsanctioned activities will not be covered by USA Fencing’s insurance.
Don’t forget, Absolute Fencing Gear is running a deal on a free fencing glove with a purchase of a mask.
This is a good starter mask: https://www.absolutefencinggear.com/shopping/product_info.php/products_id/1147/cPath/
I’d also consider getting a weapon to practice at home. This is a good one to start with: https://www.absolutefencinggear.com/shopping/product_info.php/products_id/175/cPath/24
Hope everyone is safe and healthy!
